That Man
Director : Paul Boyd
Musical Director : Iain Vince-Gatt
Choreographer: Anthony Whiteman
With a book by Wendy Gill and songs by Caro Emerald’s acclaimed writing team David Schreurs and Vincent Degiorgio, THAT MAN tells the story of young Argentinian singer Rosa who arrives in London in 1957 and auditions to perform at the world-famous Flamingo Club.
The show boasts a play list of hits from Caro Emerald’s albums, and has been developed over a number of years under the guidance of stage director Paul Boyd, with a workshop performance in London in 2014 before Anthony joined to add the choreography and musical staging to a special staged concert performance in the West End.
Set against the backdrop of London’s post-war class divisions and moral tensions, and Soho’s more liberal night scene, THAT MAN beautifully evokes an iconic era from London’s past, and an iconic nightspot too, whilst telling a tale of love, lust, and loss that is universal.
THAT MAN is presented in association with Caro Emerald’s record company, management team, and publishers - Grandmono - based in the Netherlands.
